The Python worker handles PDF page classification, tiled map OCR, label grouping and first-pass historic land-use extraction outside the PHP request lifecycle.

Registration guard

Distance, direction and on/off-site status remain unresolved until the historic map has a reliable site registration. The worker does not invent those values.
